  • Onward Counseling, PLLC currently only provides virtual counseling services through a confidential and secure video conferencing technology. Telehealth counseling comes with benefits and risks. Benefits include easier access to care, convenience of meeting from a location of your choosing, and scheduling flexibility without any commute. Risks of telehealth therapy include interruptions depending on your location during the service, technology or internet difficulties, and unauthorized access to accounts. Onward Counseling, PLLC uses only HIPPA compliant companies for phone, email, client portal, and video conferencing technology, but these still pose a minimal amount of risk. Should there ever be a breach of your confidentiality through any of these telehealth methods, you will be notified via audio and written communication.

  • Any blogs, vlogs, articles, or other sources of written or audiovisual media are for educational, informational, and entertainment purposes only. Information viewed, listened to, or read by an individual are done so voluntarily, and that individual is responsible for any actions taken in response to the information shared. Onward Counseling, PLLC and Sheree Shirley, LPC are not liable for injuries or damages caused by the use of such information.

Contact & Communication

  • Sheree Shirley and Onward Counseling, PLLC are unable to provide direct, specific advice and treatment recommendations unless a professional relationship has been established and agreed upon, and necessary informed consent documents have been signed. Requesting an appointment or making contact through any communication method is not a guarantee of services or professional relationship.

  • Onward Counseling, PLLC does not have the ability to provide constant monitoring of incoming messages through all platforms, nor the ability to respond to all messages that are received through social media accounts. Any professional inquiries about services should be sent to the client portal or email address sheree@onward-counseling.com .

  • Mental health treatment and advice cannot be provided through email or other electronic communication. Sensitive information such as this can only be discussed in scheduled outpatient sessions and in certain circumstances, by confidential phone contact.

  • If you are experiencing thoughts of suicide, homicide, self-harm, or any other form of mental health emergency, please contact your local crisis hotline or the National Suicide Hotline by dialing “988” or 1-800-273-8255. Please do not rely on messaging, commenting, calling, texting, or emailing Onward Counseling, PLLC or Sheree Shirley, as we cannot guarantee a timely response for emergencies.

Professional Services

  • Professional counseling services provided by Onward Counseling, PLLC are specifically individualized to the individual or couple receiving the service. No two professional counseling relationships are alike. Counseling outcomes are largely based on a strong therapeutic alliance between provider and client, an agreed upon treatment approach, and the motivation and efforts of the client. No provider can guarantee a positive outcome. If either provider or client feel that progress is not being made or the services are not helpful, they will work together as a team to explore different approaches, or a referral will be offered for another provider.

  • The therapeutic alliance between counselor and client is an important component of success in therapy. No counselor can realistically match will all potential clients, or meet all clinical needs. As such, Onward Counseling, PLLC cannot accept every referral or request. If we feel we would be unable to meet your needs, or that you require a service outside of our scope of practice, we will help you to find another provider that may be a better fit.

  • Onward Counseling, PLLC accepts reimbursement from the following insurance companies: [TO BE DETERMINED].  However, this not a guarantee that your specific insurance plan will cover the service. Please check with your insurance provider first by calling the number on the back of your insurance card to ensure your services will be covered.

  • Outpatient counseling services are currently provided at a fee of $140 for a one-hour session. Sliding scale or reduced-rate fees may be discussed based on the clinician’s availability to do so. Any services not covered by an insurance company will be the client’s responsibility to pay at the rate agreed upon during intake.

  • Good Faith Estimate: Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges. This will be provided to you before your first session if you do not plan to claim services with an insurance plan.
